To further grow the commercial objectives of the Ulwaz’Intuthuko initiative, e-Mbizo has embarked on an approach to develop additional partnerships with various members of the communities in which unemployment and poverty levels are high, in a form of a co-operative franchised model.
The concept considers an approved preferably co-operative as a Virtual Operator (VO) to manage the day to day retail operations on the ground and further create employment for unemployed youth, women, people with disabilities and military veterans. Existing VOs operate as wholesalers in their designated regions.
Tuck shops and Kiosks (known as “Spazas”) and other small businesses will operate as e-Mbizo 3rd party retail branches selling services to subscribers in their respective communities. They do the following:
• Ability to sell e-Mbizo products and perform functions of a customer care centre.
• Cash Send: Funds transfers with Cash-out, and e-Commerce facilitation.
• Customer Loyalty systems & programs integrated with 3rd party organizations.
• Prepaid products (Electricity, Prepaid Cards, Calling Cards).
• 3rd Party Bill Payment (Municipal accounts, DSTV, Netflix, Edcon, Telkom etc).
